4-H Sewing Camp

The 2011 Sewing Camp is designed for 1st and 2nd year 4-H members in the sewing or fabric craft projects.  This will be a two (2) day camp on March 25, 2011 from 6:00pm – 9:00pm and March 26, 2011 from 9:00am to noon.  YOU ARE EXPECTED TO ATTEND BOTH DAYS TO GET THE FULL BENEFIT OF THE CAMP.  We will be meeting in the Conference Room in the Extension Office located on the fairgrounds.

The goal/purpose of the Sewing Camp is to:

  • Learn how a sewing machine works.

  • Discover how knowing the basics are key to a positive 4-H sewing experience.

  • Develope a bond or a relationship with an experienced seamstress.

  • Allow 4-H members to get answers to their sewing questions.

  • Walk away with a finished product that will encourage you to work on your 4-H project.

You will need to bring:

  • Your own sewing machine

  • Thread

  • Scissors

If you are interested in attending this camp, but do not have a sewing machine, do not let that keep you from participating.  We will have extra machines you can use during camp.  Extension Homemakers will will be available to provide ono on one assistance during the camp.  Your parent or whoever will be assisting you in your 4-H project are encouraged to attend as well.  There is NO COST for this workshop.  All you need to do is pre-register by March 21 by calling the Extension Office at 533-0554 or coming in to the office in person.
